Tariff of duties respecting the acts of civil status and change of name or of designation of sex, R.Q. c. C.c.Q., r.9

1.   For the issuing of copies of acts, certificates or attestations, the duties payable are

  (1)    15 $ for the issuing of a certificate of birth, marriage or death;

  (2)    20 $ for the issuing of a copy of an act of civil status;

  (3)    25 $ for the issuing of a certificate of civil status; and

  (4)    6 $ for the issuing of an attestation related to an act or to a notation made in an act of civil status, subject to the case provided for in section 2.

The duties payable are increased to 35 $ for any application requiring an accelerated processing time.

2.   For the issuing, in bulk on computer media, of attestations referred to in paragraph 4 of section 1, the duties are 1,75 $ per second during which the computer is in use; however, the duties may not be less than 100 $.

The following duties are added to the duties calculated in accordance with the first paragraph:

  (1)    0,10 $ per attestation, for 50 001 to 250 000 attestations;

  (2)    0,05 $ per attestation, for 250 001 to 450 000 attestations; and

  (3)    0,025 $ per attestation, for 450 001 attestations or more.

Additional duties of 20 $ per diskette or 40 $ per tape used as media for those attestations are also payable.

4.   Duties of 20 $ are payable for a consultation report on a search in the register of civil status concerning a person or event and covering a 5-year period; duties of 4 $ added for each additional year searched.

5.   Duties of 100 $ are payable for the preparation of an act of birth following a summary investigation, where the birth is declared more than one year after it occured; the duties payable are only 50 $ if the declaration, although late, is made to the registrar of civil status during the year of birth.

5.1.   Duties of 100 $ are payable for adding the filiation to an act of birth where the filiation is declared more than one year after the birth ; the duties payable are only 50 $ if the declaration of filiation, although late, is made to the registrar of civil status during the year of birth.

6.   The duties payable for an application to change the surname or given name of a person are 125 $.

7.   Where a person requests, in a single application, that his or her surname be changed and that the new surname be assigned to his or her minor children, the duties prescribed in section 6 are increased by 25 $ per child.

8.   The duties payable for the issuing of a copy of a certificate of change of name are 10 $.

9.   The duties payable for an application for a change of designation of sex are 125 $.

10.   The duties payable for the issuing of a copy of a certificate of change of designation of sex are 10 $.
